Budget Update

BUDGET UPDATE: we have had two budget meetings to work through this year’s budget. We first met on March 27 and our second meeting on April 12. We have a third meeting planned for April 20th at 6:30pm. The public is always welcome. We have not talked of closing any facilities. Actually, the talk has been at expanding service by trying to get the Weight Training Facility a space of their own. We have been striving to maintain service. There has been no consensus made on increasing taxes. It is my belief that the answer to growing a community is never to close facilities. The arena and library are core arteries that provide life to the heart of our community. Both of these facilities are utilized in our town and provide worth while diversions. At the upcoming meeting, we will be trying to finalize the budget as the rest of the numbers that we need to make decisions will be in, mainly numbers associated with water. I would like to applaud our town staff for the good work that they have done preparing our documents and the extra effort that they have been putting forward. Good job indeed.
