Councillor’s Corner - Wednesday April 5, 2017
Wow can you believe it’s April already! Come one summer. Sooo looking forward to some swimming and fishing in the warm summer sun. I wanted to clarify last week’s article and make sure that residents know that my French courses and my travelling to Quebec City were out of my own pocket. I was rushed writing that article and realized later that my article could have been misinterpreted. So just so you know, I’m not having a hay day at your expense. At the township, we have been dealing with this year’s budget. We have our second budget meeting coming up this week. This is the first time for me to work through the busget process at council level. It has been a tremendous learning curve but I am optimistic for our future. I’m finally utilizing all those commerce/finance courses I have taken. I’m excited for our Canada 150. Our committee has met and we still have room for another member if anyone is interested. It looks like we are trying to plan one event a month to celebrate our great country. Keep your ear to the ground for the upcoming Owl Prowl. THere should be informationo on our Facebook page if it isn’t there already. We have the Township Facebook pages in the works. Please give staff time to get them up all up to date as we venture into new internet territory. I actually missed last week’s council meeting because f unexpected work so I am looking forward to our meeting tonight. So, I hope to see you out tonight. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at cheryltfort@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
