Canada 150 Owl Prowl

Councillor’s Corner - Wednesday April 12, 2017
The Canada 150 Committee has met twice now and have organized or are partnering with an event for every month for the rest of the year. Our committee is made up of three town representatives, two councillors and one staff. I’d like to thank Armand Le Fort, Carol MacEachern, and Caroline Biribauer for volunteering to come on board to help organize and celebrate Canada’s 150. Drago Stephanic and myself are also on board from Town Council and Gail Jaremy our Township CAO. There will be an article in next week’s paper highlighting the events in more detail but to kick things off, the public is invited to celebrate the Birds of Canada – the Hornepayne Edition. Spring is a great time to learn about different birds in our area, starting with an ‘Owl Prowl’ on April 21 from 8-10pm. Join self-described local bird nerd, Caroline Biribauer, for an indoor presentation all about owls followed by a guided nighttime prowl as we go looking & listening for owls. To register for this event, go to: Owl Prowl.
The presentation will begin at 8pm at the Holy Name of Jesus School Gym and will be followed up with the excursion. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages. I’m looking forward to this event.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Fort
